Job Summary:
Payroll Lead is responsible for identifying and solving issues relating to the performance of business operations. They provide recommendations to solve problems and ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, quantify their impact, define their benefits, and share with management. Required an in-depth knowledge of Australian Employee Payroll Management, Tax, and Compliance.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely year-end reporting as required by the business.
- Collecting, compiling, entering, and updating payroll data in the system and ensures that it’s accurate. o Ensure timely taking the input and delivery of payroll data as per the timelines.
- Garnishment calculations and compliance with 100% accuracy
- Monthly payroll and headcount reconciliation, variance analysis, Bank file reconciliation.
- Prepare compliances checklist for payroll checks.
- Prepare internal and external audit support.
- Responsible for timely delivery of Bank file and other payroll reports as per the agreed timelines.
- Responsible for timely submission of all payroll data to the clients with 100% accuracy.
- Retain appropriate documents and ensure timely submissions of payroll, PAYG, Super (submission and payments), payroll taxes for respective states as per due dates in the country.
- Understanding proper tax rules of employer paid benefits/one-time paid benefit.
- Aware of Australia Employee Labor laws and regulations such as the Fair Work and Australia Services.
- Aware of ongoing legislation changes and implementing those into the system.
- Aware of Singapore Employee Labor laws and regulations such as Ministry of Manpower and CPF Board.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 6+ Years of experience in Australia Payroll.
- Payroll/HR/Finance/Systems background with an understanding of the core competencies of the payroll process.
- Team player with good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Australia employment laws and regulations.
- Good knowledge of Employment Act, PAYG, Payroll Tax, terminations (lump sum payments and their taxation), etc.
- Able to work under pressure with a good sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. o Proficient in MS Excel – Expert Level
- Experience working in an outsourcing environment or have managed large-in-house payroll headcount will be an advantage.
